Lego Design by Me, a Lego customization service that allows you to build creations on a digital software and then upload them to a gallery and buy them, has been scheduled to end on January 16, 2012. All creations uploaded to the gallery will not be lost, but will be transferred to a new upcoming Lego Digital Designer gallery. You will still be able to download and install Lego Digital Designer and create and upload your own creations to the gallery but will no longer be able to purchase them after January 16, 2012. All last orders made on January 16 will be made and delivered within a maximum of 24 days after the order date.  If you experience any issues you may contact Lego through phone or email and they will continue to support you for as long as it may take. You may still use Lego Pick a Brick or Lego Hero Recon Team to purchase your own Lego creations. And if you want your creation delivered in time for Christmas make sure you order by November 24th!

As many people have been asking these questions, here are the latest updates to the details on Lego Universe’s Server Shutdown. The winter world, Frostburgh, which was planned to open near December, has been canceled, along with the Ninjago Fire Temple and the evergreen world mentioned by the Lego Universe developers just weeks before on Lego Universe’s first birthday, October 26, 2011. No updates to Lego Universe will be made and the game will remain the same until January 31st, 2012, when Lego Universe is shutdown. The game which was planned to last for 5 years will soon come to an end after only one and quarter years. As for the Lego Universe Creation Lab gallery on the Lego Universe website, it will stay open so Lego Universe fans can continue to upload fun creations, drawings, and screenshots! The Lego Universe forum on the Lego Message Boards will remain open unless otherwise announced. Moderation on Lego Universe will remain until it’s shutdown so player properties can still be updated and uploaded until the adventure comes to an end. It has not yet been decided whether the 2011 Nexus Force Championships and other contests will continue. Next year, in January 2012, Lego will release 2 new Lego themes: Lego City Forest Police and Lego Dino. Lego City Forest Police will be a sub-theme of Lego City and focuses on the Lego City Police stopping crimes in the forest rather than the city. Lego Dino will be focused on dinosaurs attacking the earth and will be an exploration theme. This will be the first Lego theme to feature Lego dinosaurs since the old Lego Dino Attack theme from 2005. More information on this theme has yet to be revealed. However an early link to the Lego Dino website has been found: http://www.dino.lego.com/ Plus there are many more other Lego sets coming next year and they will be put here on Toy Brix and Blox as soon as possible. It has been announced that in January 31st, 2012 the Lego company has decided to end their Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG), Lego Universe. All upcoming worlds and features including Frostburgh have been canceled. The decision was made because unfortunately the game did not receive enough customers to keep the game running. The official shutdown date is January 31, 2012, at midnight. Game Cards may continue to be used to pay for Lego Universe until December 1st, 2011. Unused Game Cards may be converted to Lego Gift Cards worth the same price. (Details on how to convert Game Cards have not yet been released but will be released December 1st.) After December 31st, all unused game time will be refunded starting February 1st, 2012. If you have upgraded to a full membership with a current subscription by December 31st, 2011, you will be provided with the full game free for the final month. Others will have only the free-to-play zone for the final month. Hope you enjoyed Lego Universe and will continue to enjoy it’s final days!
